Planned Parenthood-The Hidden Truth
Here are some facts about Planned Parenthood that you may not know:
Planned Parenthood is the nation's largest purveyor of abortions. They operate roughly 850 "family planning" clinics nationwide and perform approximately 17 percent of all abortions in the United States (statistics from 2002).
Instead of encouraging abstinence among teens, Planned Parenthood actually encourages sexual activity. They believe any and all forms of sexual activity should be encouraged in order to "delay the onset of sexual intercourse and its resulting consequences." At no time do they mention the spread of STD's through such activity.
Planned Parenthood promotes condoms as "effective protection against STDs" which we no is not true. Some STDs, such as the AIDS virus, are small enough to go through the pores of a condom.
After two decades of Planned Parenthood's sex education, the number of births to unmarried mothers has not declined.
Less than ten percent of the services done at Planned Parenthoods are non-abortion related.
Planned Parenthood wants you to believe that the fetus is not really a baby until it is born; however, their own literature contradicts this statement. For instance, an excerpt from their 1963 brochure Plan Your Children for Health and Happiness stated the following, "An Abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun. It is dangerous to your life and health. It may make you sterile so that when you want a child you cannot have it."
Plannned Parenthood is funded with your tax money. Millions of our tax dollars goes to Planned Parenthood each year through the the nation's Title X program.
Planned Parenthood hides behind the rhetoric of the pro-choice movement, but in actuality they are pro-population control. For example, they support China's one child per family rule which includes forced sterilization.
Planned Parenthood is not interested in choice. They worked to strike down an Akron, Ohio city ordinance that required women considering abortion to be given information concerning complications and fetal development. If they are pro-choice, why do they want to deny these women all the facts necessary for them to make an informed decision?
